Watercolor, Charcoal, Oil, on mixed paper

This image takes a face that is familiar and presents that face in a different perspective. It builds on our basic understanding of how our brains recognize faces, and links past experience, stories, and lives lived to that individual’s face. Ultimately, this raises the question of whether the new presentation in this painting carries all of that information with it, or if it has a new undefined meaning when presented in this way.
