IIt is often said that art is not created in a vacuum, and sometimes it is important to acknowledge the ideas and inspirations that drive one by a conscious examination of work through the lenses of those who come before us. With this image the question of how the expressionists, (German expressionists in particular) might depict a tree is raised. No one works alone. There have been others that came before us, and there are those that will follow in our footsteps. It is important to the collective narrative to document your thought process so that a clear path can be viewed and understood. This image represents one such breadcrumb on that path.
